Original Sound Piece Commissioned by The Great Design Disaster for Milano Design Week

Presented during Milano Design Week 2023 across several venues in Milan

Composed an original acoustic piece for Artisans Lunch, a multi-day event series presented by The Great Design Disaster during Milano Design Week 2023. The work blends ambient-electronic textures, field recordings, and acoustic sound effects, weaving a sonic narrative inspired by TGDD’s visits to Italian artisan workshops. Built from recordings taken on-site, the piece reflects the everyday rhythm, intimacy, and authenticity of local family-run businesses — bakeries, bars, trattorie — celebrating the craft and character that form the backbone of Italian culture. The result is an immersive listening experience shaped by the sounds of real spaces, reimagined through Andrea’s distinct sonic perspective.

The piece was presented in three different neighbourhood venues across Milan:

April 18, 13:00 – Zodiaco Bar (Via Alessandro Volta 11)
April 19, 17:30 – Bar Tabacchi Gallo (Via Monte S. Genesio 24)
April 20, 17:30 – Paperoga (Via Lomellina 21)
